Metro bus attacked with fireworks, tagged during Downtown Los Angeles street takeover

A Metro bus full of passengers was attacked and tagged during a street takeover in Downtown Los Angeles early Monday morning.

The incident occurred around 3:15 a.m. near West Olympic Boulevard and Flower Street.

Video showed tire tread from the street takeover marked the street as police investigated the incident involving an estimated 50 vehicles.

The bus operator told stringer news service OnScene.TV that some people gathered for the street takeover shot fireworks at the bus, which was left covered in graffiti.

Video showed graffiti was also sprayed on a nearby building.

A mob even tried to break into a Starbucks on 9th and Flower streets, according to the news service.

Los Angeles police officers with the support of an air unit dispersed the crowd from the area.

It was unclear if any arrests were made.

There were no immediate reports of injuries.
